01 / The premise
Your happy ending has been revoked.
You arrive in a waiting room under a sign that says HERO. Nobody explains why. The Director does, eventually, at length. He owns the ending, the company owes him, and the rules are his rules, applied, in his words, by half, as written. The comedy aims at creative control and genre clichés, never at the player.

Wrong genre. Same Director.
The story keeps falling through trapdoors into other stories. A heist, a hospital drama, a musical, a western. Each crossover dresses the company in new costumes and keeps the evidence you carried in, so a clue from the vault can turn up at the saloon.

03 / The memory
Play it again and the story notices.
Finishing a run is not the end of the record. A second run opens a career in villainy. By the third, the Director admits at his three biggest moves that he has seen this before, and if you arrive at the last exit with nothing left to pull, a fifth door appears. Completed runs and the current run are kept apart on purpose.

Branches are authored, not generated. Every line and choice keeps a stable ID, so narration, captions, and saves all agree on what was said, and choices still matter after the branches rejoin.
